San Diego's summer concert season is in full swing, with outdoor venues across the county reporting strong turnout through the first half of August.

Bayside stages downtown, coastal amphitheaters in Chula Vista, and smaller neighborhood series from Carlsbad to La Mesa are all running full schedules through Labor Day weekend. Genres on offer range from classic rock tributes and jazz ensembles to regional Latin acts and indie pop.

Many of the community series remain free to attend, including weekend evening programs at several county parks. Organizers recommend arriving early for waterfront shows, where seating areas have been filling up well before the first act.

With warm evenings in the forecast, the second half of the season looks set to keep San Diego's stages busy straight into September.
