SAN DIEGO — The Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery held a Memorial Day celebration Monday to honor the lives of fallen heroes killed in action.

Dozens showed up to pay their respects to veterans at the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery Monday morning, which is part of an annual tradition of patriotism and community.

Various Memorial Day Celebrations were held around San Diego County at the Nuevo Memory Gardens Cemetery and SeaWorld San Diego. The San Diego Blood Bank also held blood drives at the USS Midway and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7420. Donors at the USS Midway received free admission to the ship's museum.
