SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Pride Parade made its way through Hillcrest on Saturday beginning at the neighborhood's Pride flag and ending at the entrance the Pride festival. 

News 8's Carlo Cecchetto and Barbara-Lee Edwards, and 100.7 San Diego's Robin Roth, Meryl Klemow and Ted Woods participated in the parade which attracts more than 250,000 people each year. 

The festival opened as the parade came to an end Saturday and resumed Sunday morning.

The musical entertainment at the festival continued Sunday with headliner Melissa Etheridge closing things out on the Stonewall stage. 

Friday night marked the kick-off to San Diego Pride with the Spirit of Stonewall rally. San Diego Pride selects a theme for the event each year. This year's theme is "Stonewall 50: A Legacy of Liberation" in honor of the milestone anniversary of the Stonewall riots.
