SAN DIEGO — The Eastern San Diego County Jr. Fair is a rich tradition in Lakeside; since the 1940s children and young adults have been learning valuable lessons and getting hands-on experience with livestock.
The kids who participate in the program wake up before the sun and put in hours of work before tackling the regular school day. They walk away with the opportunity to earn money and scholarships.
Ashley Jacobs gets up early with them to see what life with the animals is all about and get the details on this week's auctions.
